Residential Driveway

Project Details

For this project, we regraded and paved a 715′ residential driveway located in Fredericksburg, KY.

Bardstown Blacktop worked with our client to pave their driveway using a cost-effective, two-step process. This year, we installed a strong base layer of asphalt to create a durable foundation. Next year, we’ll return to apply the surface layer of asphalt, giving the driveway a smooth finish and added protection. This phased approach is a great way to spread out the cost of installing a heavy-duty, long-lasting driveway while ensuring top-quality results. We specialize in solutions that meet both your needs and budget.

While preparing to pave this driveway, we determined that we would have to redo the existing grade and contours. The driveway had a prominent crown in the center, along with several uneven bumps that needed to be smoothed out for a level, long-lasting surface. Additionally, the edges were low and required building up to ensure proper water runoff and a seamless transition to the surrounding landscape. To address these issues, we had to carefully regrade the surface, redistributing material to eliminate the high spots while reinforcing the edges with compacted asphalt to prevent future crumbling. This extra preparation added time to the project, but in the end, it resulted in a smooth, durable driveway that will stand up to heavy use and weather conditions.
